I installed Windows Admin Center on a new Server 2019 Core VM. Used the self-signed certificate option during the installation.
I can login to WAC, but I cannot connect to any 2019 servers on the domain. I receive the following error:
400 - CimException: The client cannot connect to the destination specified in the request. Verify that the service on the destination is running and is accepting requests. Consult the logs and documentation for the WS-Management service running on the destination, most commonly IIS or WinRM. If the destination is the WinRM service, run the following command on the destination to analyze and configure the WinRM service: "winrm quickconfig".
Can connect to remote server via
winrm quickconfigmultiple times
Created and assigned LetsEncrypt certificate instead of default self-signed cert.
Configured Defender Firewall to allow WinRM from anywhere.
Disabled Defender Firewall completely to test if it’s getting block
UPDATE: During the install, there’s a checkbox for “Allow WinRM over HTTPS only”. The first time I installed, it was checked. The second time, I unchecked this box. WAC can connect to servers now.
